At harvest time, farmers who do not have a distribution channel or whose produce do not have a showroom appearance are unable to sell.

If they also lack the means for large scale production and processing, there will be little choice but to forfeit the crop as fertilizer for the next year.

Shih-Fung Pan, himself a farmer and a chef, couldn’t help but think “These are clearly quality crops – why must they be wasted or thrown away just because they aren’t sold as produce?”

With his experience as a chef, Pan steps in to help by purchasing the overproduced or unmarketable crop and creates new products that can then be turned around for sale.

This also reduces the amount of wasted food each year and provides the public with sustainable, environmentally friendly products at reasonable prices.
